Breakfast food is meant to be indulgent; it’s a way of telling your digestive system to wake up & kick start your body’s metabolism. Moreover it’s said that one must incorporate something sweet & fruits in the morning. Your metabolic rate is the highest in the morning & burns off all the extra calories throughout the day. No wonder the famous saying “Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince & dinner like a pauper”.
So what if I say I can help you make your breakfast as indulgent, fruity, sweet, delicious & leave you craving for more with my Nutella, Salted Whisky Caramel Banana Sandwich. Sounds crazy yumm right & trust me it is finger licking & plate licking good. I had this many moons ago as my birthday breakfast & then totally forgot about sharing the recipe; so here is how you can make this, indulge & thank me later.
Nutella, Peanuty Salted Whisky Caramel Banana Sandwich
Makes  1
2 slices of Bread (any choice of bread)
1tbsp Nutella (heaped)
1tbsp Crunchy Peanut Butter (heaped)
1tbsp Salted Whisky Caramel Sauce
2tbsp Butter
1 Ripe Banana (small variety)
  • Take 2 slices of bread & apply very little butter
  • Apply a heaped tablespoon of Nutella on one of the slices & spread it evenly
  • On the second slice apply a heaped tablespoon of crunchy peanut butter
  • Now evenly place a layer of thinly sliced ripe banana on one of the slices
  • Drizzle about half of the caramel sauce over it.
  • Place a second layer of thinly sliced ripe banana & drizzle the rest of the caramel sauce over it.
  • Sandwich it with the second slice & apply a decent amount of butter on the top side.
  • Heat a nonstick pan on medium flame & melt the rest of the butter.
  • Once hot, place the sandwich keeping the buttered slice up & the plain side down.
  • Grill it over medium till golden brown & carefully turn it the other side.
  • Once golden brown on both sides, remove it on a serving plate, cut in diagonally into two pieces & eat it hot.
Note – You can use plain caramel sauce with a sprinkle of sea salt. In case you are out of caramel sauce, good quality brown sugar & sprinkle of sea salt will also do. A drizzle of good quality honey works equally well.
A small request, I have recently started writing for a website called the Better Butter & participated in one of their on going contests. It would be a really sweet gesture if you just click on the VOTE icon under my picture. Thank you 🙂
